In the event of the failure of network access, users should report the fault to the IT Service Desk located in the IT Building either by telephone (021 4335050), or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). In order for IT Services to deal with any issue, a detailed, accurate description of the failure is required. The IT Service Desk responds to a wide range of IT-related queries. The service is available to all staff and postgraduates - however, staff and postgraduates from Departments or Schools are asked to contact their own local technical team first.
For other staff members of the university, IT Services offers a new service for logging issues at http://servicedesk.cit.ie/. Once you have logged a call with this service, you will receive a ticket number which will be assigned to each problem and an initial diagnosis will be communicated to the user. Please note that this ticketing system is a queue, and your query will be dealt with in due time.
All problems are regarded as important and will receive a swift response appropriate to the level of criticality to the business of the university. IT Services will take all measures, commensurate with the available resources, to maintain the reliable transportation of information to and from all systems connected to the Campus Network.
